Three apps, three paths: an important product update
As our product ecosystem evolves, we regularly take a step back to evaluate where we can deliver the most value to our customers, and where it makes sense to continue investing.
Today, we want to share an update on three of our smaller apps: Contract Signature ( for Jira and for Confluence ), PDF Export ( for Jira and for Confluence) , and Test Manager . Each of these products plays a different role in our portfolio, and their paths forward reflect both customer usage and broader platform changes, particularly the ongoing shift led by Atlassian toward Forge as the future of app development.
Contract Signature: moving toward End-of-Life
We’ll start with the most important update.
After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to sunset Contract Signature for Jira and Confluence.
This wasn’t a decision we took lightly. Contract Signature has helped teams formalize agreements directly within their workflows. However, the reality is that the product’s current level of usage - generating $3,963.68 in 2025 - does not sustain the ongoing costs required to keep it viable.
Maintaining an app today involves more than just keeping it running. It includes:
-
Continuous support for customers
-
Infrastructure and hosting costs
-
Security and compliance updates
-
Platform migrations - most notably, the transition from Connect to Forge
With Atlassian announcing the gradual end of support for Connect, continuing Contract Signature would require a full migration effort. Given the current scale of the product, that level of investment is unfortunately not feasible.
What this means for customers
Contract Signature will enter an End-of-Life (EOL) phase over approximately the next 12 months. This timeline is intentionally flexible, as it may be influenced by Atlassian’s Connect deprecation schedule.
During this period:
-
The app will remain available for existing users
-
No new features will be developed
-
Support will be gradually reduced over time
We strongly encourage customers to begin planning their transition early.
Supporting your transition
We want to make this process as smooth as possible. To help with that, we will:
-
Provide a ZIP export of your existing data
-
Offer guidance through our support channels
If Contract Signature plays an important role in your workflows, we’d especially value hearing from you. Your feedback helps us better understand real-world use cases and informs how we approach future solutions.
PDF Export: transitioning to Forge
Unlike Contract Signature, PDF Export continues to be an important part of our offering, and we are actively investing in its future.
To align with the platform direction set by Atlassian, PDF Export will undergo a phased migration to Forge.
What to expect
Our approach is designed to minimize disruption while ensuring long-term compatibility:
-
Short term: Migration to Connect on Forge
-
Later this year: Full transition to Forge architecture
This staged approach allows us to maintain stability while gradually modernizing the app’s foundation.
For customers, this means continued support and improvements, with the added benefit of a platform that is more secure, scalable, and future-proof.
Test Manager: stable and fully supported
Finally, a quick update on Test Manager.
Test Manager is already fully built on Forge and is in a strong, stable position. There are:
-
No planned changes
-
No migration concerns
-
No expected disruptions
We will continue to support and maintain Test Manager as part of our core offerings.
Looking ahead
These updates reflect a broader reality of building within a rapidly evolving ecosystem. As Atlassian continues to shape the future of app development with Forge, we’re aligning our investments to ensure we can deliver reliable, high-quality products where they matter most.
While sunsetting a product is never easy, it allows us to focus our efforts on tools that can grow and improve over time.
